I had been thinking for sometime to stay in this resort until the recent school holiday but we just had a night stay here. Our car broke down and we arrived quite late but was so glad to have finally arrived there after a long hours waiting for the car to be repaired. We were greeted by the friendly staffs and was served with welcoming drinks and towels. As I was sitting at the comfortable couch at the lobby, the wind was blowing gently and it was a pleasant feeling after a tiring day. The best thing was when we checked in to our room which was the water villa. The room was spacious as well as the bathroom and a balcony with a table and two chairs overlooking the lake.It was at night so couldn't see anything yet until the next morning. However, that night we did explore a bit accompanied by a friendly and helpful staff who helped us to get our bicycles. Yes, this resort provides bike riding where guest can choose the bike they want by just filling up a form. Buggy service is also available in this resort, the staff will be happy to take you and explore around.

Another best thing is to wake up in the morning to the sound of nature and the lake views. We cycled to the restaurant for breakfast and our little one enjoyed his time at beautiful swimming pool. The pool area is just lovely to walk around and it is near to the Lakeside restaurant where we had our breakfast. There are also gazebos near the lake for picnic lovers.

I simply love the resort and hope that it will maintain for the years to come.

Here are the list of the rooms which you can choose from:

1) Jala Villa

2) Vana Villa

3) Sara Cottages

4) Vana Villa with pools

5) Jala Suite

6) Vana Suite

Special thanks to Datuk Franky Chua and his management for creating such beautiful place and hope that more are aspired to build similar resort (a symbol of human and nature in harmony) in the future.

Mangala Resort & Spa
Lebuhraya Tun Razak, Kampung Melayu Gambang, 26300 Gambang, Pahang

It's about 56 minutes from Kuala Lumpur. We have been here for a few times and still love this place. To some , this place may be just for photos but to me it offers tranquility and relaxation though there may not be too much attractions around but this is actually what we need for a short getaway to really just relax. I love the rooms here with comfortable beds and for its french-styled interior. This time I booked a 1 bedroom suite twin bed which was at the far end of the blocks , opposite the swimming pool. Their rooms are spacious, clean and nice designs of bathroom and dressing table. There is also roomy chest of drawers beside the cupboards to store our belongings.

During the school holidays, the rooms were fully booked and we had to wait for about an hour for the room to be ready. While waiting, we can just take a rest at the waiting room filled with comfortable sofas. Besides, it was also nice to just walk around taking photos and enjoy some performance on held on that day.

We had our dinner quite early at Le Poulet. It was quite warm up here compare to last time we came here few years ago. The next morning, we had our breakfast at Le Blason restaurant. Another place to go after breakkie was the swimming pool. After we checked out from the hotel, we headed to the Japanese Village and Botanical Garden and our very last stop was of course the Rabbit Farm. It was an enjoyable short getaway at Bukit Tinggi.

I actually booked a garden pool villa.

We had to wait for a while when we reached there as they were still cleaning the room and the staff gave us a call when the room was ready. We were sent to our room with a buggy service. Before that, the driver would drove us to our car and got our luggages and then sent us to the room.

The room was spacious with two comfortable king beds and a glass panel on villa floor and we could see the water from the room. What we loved about the villa is the private pool which is 4 ft deep, if you have kids, they can go to the public pool which is not too deep. Our unit is kind of near the land which is a strategic location as it is just a short walking distance to the public pool and the playground. We also enjoyed walking around the villa in the evening. One can also opt to do fishing here.

There are other activities offered at the hotel such as segway ride, bicycle ride or kids can also bring their own rollerblades to play around the walkway at the water villa.

Some may feel there are not much things here but that's the resort is all about:Relax and enjoy a quiet moment with the sound of sea. It's really fun just to spend the time in the villa with a pool or just walk around the villa for a really short vacay.

I booked a premium room. It was quite a fast check in and the staffs are nice and friendly. Our room was located at Level 7. We are glad to have a premium room as it is spacious with 2 comfortable single beds and a day bed. The working table is long and there is also a nice big coffee table with a comfortable chair. We like the room as everyone got an own space to do their own thing. The room is really relaxing. The bathroom has a nice design.I like the idea of a bathroom with a sliding door and a mirror attached to it instead of a mirror facing the bed. There is also a sink in the room.

It’s really nice to have a dinner buffet at Trader’s Food Shop restaurant facing the marina and. There is a beach which is in walking distance just beside the hotel.Along the way to the beach, there is also a foot wash provided at the pavement. The hotel may not many facilities like other resort does, however, it’s nice enough for a short a getaway.

Avillion Admiral Cove
Jalan Pantai, Tanjung Tuan, 71050 Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia

Summer in Perth 2016

Perth is Western Australia's vibrant riverside capital with a population of just over two million people, an easy going lifestyle and a friendliness second to none. Most of people find Perth bright, fun, friendly and 'laid back' but those who have visited the city before are sure to find their own descriptions after their holiday.I must say that this city is blessed with beautiful parks, beaches and the city is like always created in a holiday mood.

This is our second trip to Australia but first in Perth and we tend to take it slow and feel like home when we travel here.As we had visited Melbourne before, we kinda of knowing what to expect as we did some research before and of course photos and hear says from friends etc(Appreciate all the sharing and information). One of the different things is about the time, the sunrise is as early as 5 am or earlier and night falls by 7 pm or so during summer compare to Melbourne which is sunset by 8 or 9 pm.
For Perth, is best to get a good eight hours sleep and get up early to explore if you do have a list of places to go but we just take it slow and mostly outdoor and skipped indoors such as the museums which normally we will do.

For the first 3 nights, we stayed at Henley Brook which near to Caversham and Whiteman Park. It's also near the airport unlike during our trip to Melbourne we drove further to Apollo Bay and overnight there to explore the suburbs first before Melbourne city.

The next 2 nights, we stayed at Bunbury to explore the southern part of Perth which is Busselton and Margaret River region and the last 2 nights in Coogee, Fremantle.

27 November -30 November 2016 (3 nights)

Stay: Discovery Park -Perth Vineyards, Henley Brook
Points of interest: Caversham Wildlife Park, Whiteman Park
It was quite a last minute decision. Actually there are 3 KPW apartments at different locations but we finally chose the one at Greenhill Resort. The view is nice and the bedrooms are clean and spacious and comfortable. The living area is also spacious with comfy couches and also a flat screen TV with Astro. How cool is that?

It's nicely located at Tanah Rata , just opposite Heritage Hotel.

It took us more than 3 hours to reach our destination as we
stopped by Ipoh for the beansprouts chicken rice before heading to CH.The route
from Simpang Pulai was quite congested with holiday makers, why... It's school
holiday! But the time we took was finally compensated with the cozy and
spacious 3 bedroom apartment at Greenhill Resort.

It was quite a good weather but some of the times were
drizzling and very cold at night and we didn't really visited any of the
attractions but just passed by there as some of us were feeling under the
weather. So mostly resting and relaxing and had a steamboat at one of the
restaurants and nearby surroundings. As this is a well equipped apartment, we can prepare anything we
want to munch, chew or make ourselves cup of 'Ah Huat' white coffee on a cold rainy
day.

This apartment is quite well -maintained and really
comfortable and the person in charge was very kind and friendly to supply us
with a new water boiler because the old ones wasn't working and 2 big bottles of water when the water supply was cut during the night on the next day but recovered the 3rd day. Some of the cooking utensils are quite worn off but still can be used or you can bring your own pot and pans for cooking too.

Mr. Wong told us these few days will be very crowded so we
decided to take the another route back to KL which is the winding Tapah road.

A stroll at Port Fairy (Throwback Summer Holiday In Melbourne, Victoria, Australia)

Today, I am sharing with you one of the beautiful places in Warrnambool which is Port Fairy. It's a coastal town in south-western Victoria, Australia, a charming fishing village.During my stay in Warrnambool, I had managed to visit Port Fairy which was about 25 minutes from Warrnambool town. It was drizzling in the morning and normally shops would close early at about 5/6pm. It was summer and the day tend to last longer than the night. We first stopped by at the Port Fairy Commercial Centre where there were shops, mart, boutiques and we got some apples from there too.As we travel by car , it's nice to store some fruits or some snacks to keep us going. Then, we went to the Port Fairy Wharf and it was a nice place to walk around and there were boats and nice houses there.I never knew that there were number of accommodations available for vacation rentals but was glad though to stay at Warrnambool Holiday Village. It was so relaxing walking by the water trail at the wharf and looking at all the nice houses beautifully built along the way. There was also a beach nearby and also a wetland which was the Yambuk Lake Caravan Park; about 15 minutes from Port Fairy. After checking out the area nearby Port Fairy, we headed to Portland which was basically about almost an hour from here.

Tipa Resort, Krabi, Thailand.

It was years ago for this first road trip to Krabi, just to share.
We started our journey about 4.25 am and reached the destination about 1 am the next morning. No we didn't take the flight but drive along the way to Krabi. We stopped by at Penang to renew our kids passports and continued the joruney after that. In between we did stop by at some towns before we reached Tipa Resort. What a relief when we finally touched down the place and the staff welcomed us and took us to our room(up a hill) with a ride on a buggy.

I may not remember it all exactly as this was trip was years ago but I think this is one of the resorts in Ao Nang, Krabi which is worth mentioning in my travel blog for those who may have a plan to have a holiday in Krabi. There were quite a number of restaurants nearby such a long line of sea food restaurants and some offers affordable buffet dinner.

The resort has a nice swimming pool, a big play room/reading room which kids / parents may like to spend some time relaxing and reading but lots of foreign stories books, if you understand German, that would be nice ;).

It was nice to have a breakfast at the restaurant in the resort with a nice ambiance and surroundings. One can walk around the resort and enjoy a dip in the pool too.

This resort is also an easy access to other attractions as there is a bus stop nearby where the bus will take you to a jetty to visit the Islands with a boat ride.
